FUNCTIONAL BREATHWORK
The FUNCTIONAL BREATHWORK course is a predominantly practical Manual Therapy (MT) course with supporting theory looking at the function of the respiratory system through various lenses. Initially, the course covers biomedical and biomechanical aspects of breathing, including practical assessment and treatment methods. We then look at fluid and inflammatory aspects of health and how these may be influenced through MT treatments of the respiratory system. Lastly, we analyse the individual in the relation to their environment and the movement patterns they would like to achieve. A broad range of MT approaches based on evolutionary/ecological and biotensegral models are demonstrated and practiced under supervsion.
Duration: One day (9.00-16.30)

THE KNEE THROUGH DIFFERENT LENSES
Chronic knee pain such as Knee Osteoarthritis (KOA) and Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome (PFPS) are conditions that THE KNEE THROUGH DIFFERENT LENSES course focuses on. The course mixes theory and practice but is predominantly focussed on Manual Therapy (MT) practice. As introduction, the course lead you through a biomedical, then biomechanical lense and we practice how to quickly assess areas that may be maintaining the condition. We then analyse KOA and PFPS through an inflammatory, metabolic and fluid lense. Lastly, we discuss a case seen through evolutionary, biotensegral and ecological enactivism models. The assessments and MT approaches and are practiced under supervision adapted to the individual along with discussions and demonstrations of management of that person.
Duration: One day (9.00-16.30)
The FUNCTIONAL BREATHWORK and THE KNEE THROUGH DIFFERENT LENSES courses are open to osteopaths, physiotherapists and chiopractors. They are aimed at any adult patient population from elite sports through to elderly. Technique mentoring will include adapting the approach to suit both practitioner and patient.
